John F
Why not log on and become a member, there is no charge and you will be given every opportunity to "vent your spleen" to a sympathetic audience who will generally be sympathetic if you are half justified in what you say.
Glad you looked at the EA thread. It really is important to us all to address the issues you raise and do all we can to have the policing of our waters improved.
Hope you will join in and continue to post on this forum.
I'm new and have thoroughly enjoyed participating.
Tight lines and good luck in Wales.
Regards.

Thanks fo rthe encouragement Highplains.
I will be joining after this post.
Just one thing that I thought of after the post I previously made.
I'm not sure if it was the same for migratory trout licences. But does anyone remeber the good old days when you had to buy a licence for each county you fished in?
Living in Northampton "in the middle" at the time was quite expensive licence wise, well if you wanted to fish different waters at least.
Just a thought on the possitive side, unfortunately the only one I can think of.

Gwyniadun,
Just a little hint wrt writing to the EA. When requesting info on fishery matters, ask whether the officers involved in these 'inspections' were in fact fishery officers. Otherwise, they will keep fobbing you off with all sorts of facts about this and that officer doiong all sorts of wonderful things. However, in reality the majority of these inspections are being carried out by officers that are not officially recognised Ffishery officers and are therefore not formal inspections.
Just a thought!

You are so right Mr/Mrs guest...I have done that already and am waiting for an official reply from the Welsh Assembly, I am informed that Carwyn does have someone investigating the issues that have been raised, must be some kind of problem somewhere considering that the first letter was dated 23rd November 2005.

John F, I certainly remember the days of multiple licences and being very much a travelling rod even in those days ( dear oh dear am i realy that old ) i would have to buy up to 5 a year and have, in the past been caught out by not having the correct license for the area i was fishing. i remember the arguments when the national rod license came in, it was more expensive than a single one for ,say the severn and trent, and for some one only fishing local it was an increase, it was a saving for me and i was well happy. This came by e mail today from the Welsh Assembly.
Brynle has asked me to let you know that the Minister has contacted the EA to request their response by the end of this week. As soon as we are in receipt of the information, I will ensure you are informed.
Shall I hold my breath or what?

EA Enforcement. 1. Why has the ‘Enforcement Team’ of the EA been reduced? Reply: Quote: The Enforcement Team has not been reduced and as previously stated has a total of 8 warranted Officers, although we have a vacancy that is being actively filled. Does anyone know if this vacancy been filled yet ? What kind of response have those that have written to the trout and salmon magazine had ?
