8/9/08 As promised here are the facts of last weeks catches from around the Waterville Fishery, given to me by our manger Mr John Murphy and of WWW.Loughcurrane.com first in my striking zone is Mr Stuart Eastman who caught a fine 13lbs Salmon and added two Sea Trout to his basket with his Gillie Mr John Quinlan and of WWW.Thatchcottageireland.co.uk also in good form was Mr Tony Lesson who caught three Salmon and added 8 Sea Trout to his basket, next in the rod bending department is Mr Rod Robinson who caught one Salmon to his rod, followed by Mr Joe Simpson who also caught one Salmon, next in the catching department is Mr Neil Patton who caught four Salmon plus a nice basket of Sea Trout, next in line is Mr Nick Roe who also caught a few Salmon to his rod., staying with my noble Gentlemen the Salmon, Mr Jeremy O’Connor caught a 7lbs Salmon with his Gillie Mr Tom O’Shea and of WWW.Oshealoughcurrane.com they say you can’t keep good anglers down well Mr Martin Lanigan O’Keefe of Waterville was a perfect example of that when he caught himself a fine 6lbs Salmon on the Butler Pool and on Lough Currane a guest caught a fine Salmon, fishing with his Gillie Mr Donal O’Shea and of WWW.Curranelodge.com and last but not least an Angler called John caught one Salmon, who john is I don’t know, but if I was Sherlock Holmes I would say elementary my dear Murphy? Now back to the present 8/9/08 A guest fishing with Mr Michael O’Sullivan of Waterville Boats and @ lobsterb@iol.ie caught a fine Grilse on the famous Butler pool and of WWW.watervillegolflinks.ie that’s two on the trot for his client. And Lough Na Mona A guest fishing with Mr John Quinlan caught a Salmon and a few Sea Trout. 9/9/08 Big flood to day, amount of rainfall 14.2mm, max air temperature 15.6C/60.08F so as you can imagine the River Inny was in reasonable good flow and first in striking zone on the Inny, was Mr Junior Scully with his guest who had two C&R, also in good form in the C&R department was Mr John Quinlan and of WWW.Thatchcottageireland.co.uk with one Salmon with his client. Wind WSW fresh to strong and overcast. 10/9/08 All I can say for today it was wild with strong SSW wind blowing and heavy rain all morning and made another flood, amount of rainfall 14.5mm,max air temperature 17.1C/62.78F.11/9/08 I start with the Butler pool and @ WWW.Watervillegolflinks.ie where an Angler caught a fine Grilse and on Lake Side Mr Mark Malley fishing with his Gillie Mr Vincent O’Sullivan and of WWW.Vincentsfishing.com caught two Salmon on the fly and in the Sea trout department there were a few caught but nothing that would hit the head lines. Wind WNW fresh to strong with the odd shower, amount of rainfall 4.6mm.max air temperature 15.4C/59.72F. 12/9/08 It was a good morning for Mr Rob Washmuth of the UK and Caherdaniel, who caught a fine 10lbs Salmon on a waddington fly on the famous Butler Pool with his Gillie Mr Michael O’Sullivan of Waterville Boats and @ lobsterb@iol.ie and on the evening shift Dr Rudolf Schweissthal of Germany caught a Six lbs Salmon on the fly with his Gillie Mr Dominic Mc Gillicudy, now I go up stream to the Big lake/Lough Currane where a guest fishing with his Gillie Mr Neil O’Shea and of WWW.Oshealoughcurrane.com caught a few Nice Sea Trout on the Drift, also in good form was Mr Bob Priestly who also caught a few Juniors and in the Salmon department a guest in a hired out boat from WWW.Lakelandshouse.com caught one Salmon . I was reading on WWW.Loughcurrane.com the River Inny was in good production with Mr Tom O’Shea producing a few C&R Salmon with his guests and staying in the C&R department guests fishing with their Gillie Mr Mike O’Dwyer had a good day on the Inny. Wind NW light with plenty of sun breaking through, amount of rainfall 0.2mm,max air temperature 16.3C/61.3F. 13/9/08 another small flood and overcast all day, little to no wind and when the wind did get up it came from the South, There were a few Sea Trout caught. Amount of rainfall 6.2mm, max air temperature 15.9c/60.62F. 14/9/08 There was some action on the Waterville Fishery today, I will start with the Butler Pool first thing this morning a guest with his Gillie Mr Mike O’Dwyer caught a Grilse and on the afternoon shift Mr Brod O’Sullivan of Stella Maris Guest house was telling me that he caught a Grilse within two or thee casts, talk about the maestro, now upstream to Lough Currane Where Mr Dominic Mc Gillicudy and guest caught a Grilse and I was reading on WWW.Loughcurrane.com There has been some fine action out of WWW.Lakelandshouse.com where the commander-in-chief Mr Frank Donnelly and his guest caught a Grilse, plus there have been two specimen Sea Trout caught by anglers, both in the 7lbs class and an Angler caught a 10lbs Salmon.
