I've just got back from having my casting 'health checked' and although I wasn't able to fish the Wharfe for grayling as I'd hoped I thought you might enjoy a couple of images of the river from this morning - it was chilly! The bridge marks the upper limit of the Bolton Abbey water. I've got a sneaking feeling that I'll be revisiting at a warmer time of year!

Stunning photos there Guru, and a cracking bit of water. A friend of mine has just taken a 10 year lease on a property within the curtilage of the estate, after seeing the photos I must go pay him a visit. TT.

Exellent pics Paul. Youve got to Paul its a cracking place, (I would recommend May and June) Ive fished the Bolton Abbey stretch plenty of times and always enjoyed myself, Weekends & Bank Holidays to be avoided if possible, far better going through the week. How's about a meet up here to satisfy us Northerners SMW

Stunning photos - excellent definition. I've only been there in the Summer and it looked a lot different.

I'd be up for a trip this summer if possible (fingers crossed).
I have'nt fished there for years, always enjoyed it. A friend of mine was river keeper there in the 80's before he went to Lewis.
Cracking river and excellent fishing.
Best regards,
Ian

Fantastic photos-its quite a few years since i fished at Barden Bridge on the Devonshire estate water but the fishing was always excellent and in recent times whilst visiting as a tourist on the lower stretches near the abbey i have seen some superb fish. In the summer the mid reaches are best fished early or late due to the influx of daytrippers but it is certainly a very picturesque area steffan i dont think you will be dissapointed if you visit your friend up there it certainly is Gods country-akin to wales of course!
