Had a few hours on the Dee this weekend, the conditions appeared perfect, mild, overcast with a decent hatch. Unfortunately the River was up, and very dark and cold - the Trewern was being topped up to helpt the canoeists Didn't help the cause much - still managed 7 Grayling to the Dry and bugs, swimswim had 4 and a few parr. Managed to loose a couple of nice fish again - story of my season! Anyway a clonker from the Dee Until the next time - will have to get up mid week when they aren't compensating the Trewern Hoppy

Friday saw Daz, TT, swimswim and me on the Dee.
The weather was kind to us and the water in fairly good condition.
I started with bugs and a spider had some small fish straight away. TT started with the dry and lost a very nice fish in the first hour.
The fishing was far from easy, but in the end we did well - i managed 3 fish around the 1.5lbs mark, but the fish of the day went to Daz & TT who had 42cms fish at the same time.
Again we all caught fish, but not what we would have expected from the beat we fished.
I did loose a nice fish late in the day, that threw the hook in mid air - DAZ estimated that it was over two pounds - but it wasnt meant to be for me!
I really enjoyed the day and it was a pleasure to see DAZ have his personal best grayling!

Superb day out, and great to be out on the Dee once more - albeit on one of Hoppy' private stretches (friend of a friend and all that ). I'm sure that he took us the long way round to confuse us! Cracking bit of water though, nice mix of glides and riffles, with a very good head of grayling. Here are a few pics from the day: Two 42cm fish caught at the same time! With Hoppy looking cream crackered after the previous night's scrumpy! ;D TT.
