I have just aquired a sharpes of aberdeen,scottie 9ft no 6fly rod in mint condition and original bag,really is mint,was wondering its value if anyone has any ideas,will be looking to sell it as i would like it to go to someone who collects etc,and would appreciate it. stumpy...

Im no Arthur Negus Stumpy, but I would put it into the £100-£130 bracket, you cant tell these days different people have different values, if someone wants one then who knows.

Stumpy, Why not just keep it and use it yourself? It would be just about perfect for peal on the Fowey and because it's impregnated, it will never need varnishing, you just make sure that you hang it up in a dry bag after use and it will last you forever. Get a nice five-pounder on that and youll never want to catch one on carbon again!

Really depends on the age,scotties were a very popular rod and a lot were made over lots of years,I think I even remember them being marketed in the late 70s,early 80s.Then again,the collectors market for rods is not great,never has took off to the ludicrous heights of reels..........
