Three people were caught illegally netting on the River Teifi in the Cardigan area last week as a result of an intelligence operation carried out by Environment Agency Wales.
Enforcement Officers carried out the successful operation on Wednesday morning 6 September.
Environment Agency Wales' Senior Enforcement Officer Lyn Richards said:
"The Teifi is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and Special Area of Conservation (SAC) and salmon in one of the main reasons why. The Teifi is currently meeting its spawning targets but this could be put at risk by illegal netting.
"This is why we will continue to undertake regular patrols, along with intelligence led covert operations to protect, conserve and enhance this fishery. We are committed to protecting the Teifi and we will consider taking the appropriate enforcement action."
