Environment group talk fish and play
10 July 2006
The Fisheries, Ecology and Recreation Advisory Committee (FERAC), one of Environment Agency Wales’s statutory committees, meets tomorrow (Tuesday) at 10.30pm at Technium Cast, Ffordd Penllan, Parc Menai Business Park, Bangor.
The Committee advises and guides the Agency on its fisheries, conservation, recreation and navigation work. The meeting is an open meeting and members of the public are welcome to attend and listen to the discussions. A copy of the agenda is attached.
Among the items to be discussed are:
Director Wales Annual Report – looking back on 2005/2006 environmental achievements including the Fishing Wales project to improve fisheries and helping with farm cross compliance inspections to ensure farmers maintain environmental standards.
A Better Place to Play – the committee will be asked to comment on our proposed strategy to promote and widen the use of the waterways and waterbodies in Wales.
Creating a Better Place for Wildlife – why wildlife really matters to everyone because it adds to our quality of life and shows whether our environment is healthy.
