Bumper fishing programme for budding anglers!
The Environment Agency is hosting a bumper series of free fishing events in Cornwall this year for budding anglers.
The sessions, most of which are being held in the school holidays, are mainly aimed at junior anglers with the first taking place at Tavistock Trout Fishery on April 12. All equipment, including tackle, will be provided free of charge and youngsters will be able to try their hand at both fly and coarse fishing.
The Agency has also organised a series of adult and family fishing events during the summer.
Qualified instructors will attend each session providing anglers with advice and tuition. If they are lucky enough to catch a trout they can take them home. The events are part of a national Environment Agency initiative to encourage people to take up the sport and participants will not need to buy a rod licence.
Numbers are limited so it is important to book in advance. Places will be allocated on a first come first serve basis. To request a booking form please call Sally Mitchell on 01208 265012. You do not have to book for the Family events, but if you do not we cannot guarantee everyone will have an opportunity to try fishing. It will depend on attendance on the day.
