I have just seen a guy "fishing" from the Fforyd Bridge in Rhyl. The tide is out so it is possible in these low water conditions to see into the harbour pool below the bridge. From this vantage point a local "angler" is hanging over the bridge attempting to snag the "trapped" fish. Now the Fforyd bridge is the bridge on the main coast road between Rhyl and all points East, it is tea time and the traffic is heavy. The guy, wearing a white sleeveless tea shirt is making no effort to hide himself. I hope our local bailiff makes it from the cockle beds of the Dee to the FForyd in time to apprehend the guy! If he fails it will not be his fault he has a long and busy road to travel.
Well Mr *.* EAW it would seem that there is poaching in Wales, and what is more the poachers are no longer bothering to hide themselves, there is no need. The chances of you happening across them is almost nil.
Shame on you and pity the poor bailiffs working against all odds to deal with the issue.
Incident number 502594 - let's see what happens.

There are those in the EA that are "None so blind as those that don't want to see!!" Being thoroughly cheesed off was I am told a constant state of mind for some officers who couldn't get regular back up from anywhere once East of the Ogwen. As for the chaps thats taken over both on the Dee Estuary and the Clwyd.... give them another 10 years before they know where they are exactly......they haven't got any old masters any more to show them the ropes, they have all but gone and not been replaced. The WAG Enforcement Review will do absolutely Nothing as the EA Masters have shown a total disregard for fisheries protection and its a observed fact that whilst the front line staff have been severely depleted, not once has there ever been any reduction in front line desk managers or the non combatant establishment! Its a absolute disgrace what has happened and the members of FERAC and local fisheries committees should hang their heads in shame for failing to make sure there was some form of accountability....... A bit Like how Nero behaved whilst his empire burnt down around his ears as he "fiddled and watched!"

Highplains.
You must have been mistaken. There is no poaching or illegal angling in Wales and hasn't been for years. That's why they got rid of the Bailiffs. Didn't you know?
