ATTENTION ALL CLUBS & ASSOCIATIONS IN SOUTH WALES Further to the efforts of Highplains on behalf of the Clwyd federation of Angling Clubs. I am trying to form an action group of all clubs and associations in South Wales. I have been in communication with my local AM's and EAW for many months regarding this issue. If we get some sort of group organised in South Wales it would greatly assist the effort in North Wales to provide a national solution. If you are on the committees and councils of any angling club, please feel free to contact me. You could also give me some contact details for your respective club secretaries so that I could contact them to enlighten them as to the current enforcement issues on your rivers.
Thank You
Wynne Griffiths Head Bailiff - Ogmore Angling Association.

Wynne,
Nice one and well done, I sincerely hope that you are given the support your efforts deserve.
I plead with forum members to pass on the information you have requested and appeal to them to give you all the help you need.
Please remember that our sea angling brethren are equally concerned about the issue as are the course anglers. So come on and help.
We should all have the same aim: to protect our waters and the fish that live in them that bring legitimate anglers so much pleasure. May we work hard together to bring to justice those who profit from the illegal slaughter of these fish and those that currently fail to protect them in the manner they deserve.
Good luck Wynne.

Thank You Highplains,
I agree that all anglers are equally affected by this issue and not just game anglers. For example sea anglers are increasingly being affected with our estuaries and rivers being netted of valuable stocks of bass and mullet. Whilst reports in the tabloids suggest that eastern European immigrants and stripping our rivers and lakes of coarse fish. All anglers of all disciplines need to group together to fight this issue.
Again i would appeal for all angling clubs and associations in south wales to contact me and to lend their support. This will greatly assist our elected representatives Mr Alan Cairns AM & Mr Mark Isherwood AM in highlighting this situation to the Minister for the Environment.

To all anglers fishing South Wales, i would urge you to support this action group.
We need to do something before it is too late, If the South Wales groups can get this ground then it will be a step in the right direction and will add much needed support to the North Wales Groups.
Come on all, give this some thought and some time, we have all got something to loose here, our fishing.

To all those anglers who fish the Neath (Daz, Alun), the Tawe, Ogmore, Usk, Wye etc etc please support this. If you can offer any help or provide any information in respect of this please contact (Wynne, RWGBridgend on the forum).Whilst progress is being made we still have a long way to go, and the support of anglers is imperative. There have been incidents recently that have not received an EA response, others that have had a delayed EA response. These incidents result in the loss of fish from our rivers, and at this time with such low flows the fish are an easy target. Hoppy

Daz,
Thanks for the reply.
The main issue here is that there are not enough EA bailiffs on our rivers, so the issue effects both private beats and public waters.
If you have any info on poaching etc let me know.
Thanks again

Daz, Thanks for the reply. The main issue here is that there are not enough EA bailiffs on our rivers, so the issue effects both private beats and public waters. If you have any info on poaching etc let me know. Thanks again Hoppy Will do. I have been fishing now for has long as I can remember, never have I once been asked to produce my license by a EA bailiff.I have never phoned the EA once about a poaching incident on the Neath. We did have one case of a so called fisherman Snatching, but that was sorted, not by the EA.Say we did phone the EA and held this person until they turned up,would they take our word for it that he was doing what we say? ? My main issue on the Neath is pollution.I have made so many phone call's on this you wouldn't believe, and its always regarding the same sewer outlet,This has been going on now for about 3 seasons and its still not sorted.I do feel a bit guilty for giving the EA such a hard time, knowing they are so understaffed, but I do feel I am banging my head against a brick wall. Maybe if we all pull together and SHOUT LOUD ENOUGH, things will change in the future? I HOPE SO. DAZ.

Thank you Sewin Angler,
I agree that we must all be careful what we put on the forum. The unfortunate thing about this issue is that the more publicity it generates, the more the poachers become aware of a lack of bailiffs. If we are also telling them on the river reports where the fish are, we are making things much easier for them.
If you have contacts with any angling clubs, i would appreciate if you could tell them about our campaign and ask them to contact me via the forum if they can.
Thanks,

Wynne,
It must be that the fishing is so good in your area that all your supporters are out fishing!!
Come on Chaps and Chappesses!! Please give Wynne the support he deserves and the support he has earned!
The number of comments on the forums about the lack of bailiff activity on our rivers is amazing.
It is no good being complacent. Wynne needs some help to get things moving, please!
Tight lines.
