Hoppy, I started this threadon the 22nd October seatrout.proboards21.com/index.cgiand its had over a thousand visits, I hope you don't mind me including it on this site also, strangely the poll attached to it has only received 7 votes although they are all positive, to date. Have serious concerns over the 'EA' enforcement policies or more to the point lack of enforcement. I recall many years back the River Boards employed 'Bailiffs' that patrolled the Rivers/ Dealt with Hatchery work / Pollution / Avian Predation / Poachers / Survey's and so on, infact all of it, I haven't had my licence checked for three years, have you? there were 14 Bailiffs in Gwynedd area and 12 in the Dee and Clwyd Area....ably run by a team which split into three in Gwynedd and three in Dee and Clwyd, each area under a 'Fisheries Superintendent'.....back in 1970... don't know what the breakdown was for the rest of Wales, maybe someone can enlighten us....what have we today....does anyone know the numbers of 'Enforcement Bailiffs' for each area and more to the point the numbers employed in the 'Office' so to speak by comparison. We are asked to 'Catch and Release'..... is there any plan to protect these fish through the spawing period.... any plan to stop 'Avian Predation' or at least control it once 'our' efforts start to pay dividends?.
