Last year I organised a Fly Auction on the "other side" (seatrout.proboards21.com) which eventually raised £335 for fishing related causes. I am doing the same again this year and am inviting members of this forum to,either, make a donation of flies,or bid when the auction is run in December. Check details on General Fishing section for both this, and last years, auction. Look forward to your support.

The idea of the auction is that each successful bidder can nominate that his/her money goes to an angling related cause of their choice. We specifically exclude general charities as,worthy as they are, they have enough coverage and it does provide an opportunity to donate to a cause near to the heart and have a worthwhile lot as well.
Last year the bulk of the money was donated to the CFF but one bidder directed his money to the British Disabled Fishing Association-in other words it is entirely up to the successful bidder as long as it meets the criteria eg Towy net buy out, environmental schemes or your local Angling Association etc Hope this answers your query Silver Invicta-have a look at the other forum under General Fishing for this period last year to see the lots that were auctioned and the bids put in for them. Cheers

As most people are members of both forums I have only posted details of this years auction on the "other side". However in case you haven't seen it yet the auction consists of 7 lots with bids accepted up until midnight on December 17th. Five of the lots consist of salmon or seatrout fly sets but the other two are seatrout prints kindly donated by wildlife artist David Miller. The full selection of paintings and prints can be viewed on www.davidmillerart.co.uk and would make superb Christmas presents. I have included details of the two mounted prints available in the auction which may attract you to make a bid or have a look at the other lots on offer. If requested I will post details of all the lots on offer. Current highest bid for Lot 1 is £30 and £25 for Lot 2. Lot 1 "Nightfishing for Seatrout" Lot 2 " Waiting for Nightfall"
