Hi all...
just arrived home yesterday from my latest foray into the unknown, ie: A trip to Neath ... I have to thank Steve and Lyn for their superb hostpitality and friendship also Daz and Jo for being the same good friends as they have always been. Beside the fishing, i had the great pleasure of meeting and fishing with Glyn and Dai for the first time and for being able to fish again with Steffan.. ( I got no milky bars, though i believe Steff gave Daz one? )always a treat I managed to stay out of Hospital this time....though i did try once.. no doubt Daz will enlarge on this ;D The rivers were very low indeed but i did manage 11 sewin in five serious sessions, although one was a blank i did lose two fish that time. All the fish were small but good fun on lighter tackle..also caught some beautiful little grayling.. a fav fish of mine.... a day out on Chew was a day of mixed fortunes, bust on a super fish, lost 4, missed a few.. landed one lovely rainbow...Watched the milky bar kid bag up in another boat ...including a nice brown just under 3lbs... a thoroughly good day out with Steve, Daz, and Steff... what a lovely res Chew is.
All in all the banter and companionship of the whole trip, the meeting of families, our little coarse fishing comp....(won by me on the disqualification of all other players) Although Steves son Kierren, wiped the floor with all on weight...and quality..
Had a trip for Bass with Glyn Dai and Daz... I opened my rod tube and pulled out a quiver tip and spinning rod... supposed to be fly rods
oh well, no bass caught, though i saw some huge mullet... Alas they refused to play, being pre-occupied with gorging on what looked like herring fry.
At the end of a couple of weeks spent in the best of company and having learned not to sell the wrong thing at the wrong price at a car boot sale... and To send Steves young daughter Kirsten, if i wanted anything for buttons... i feel again, priviledged, to have friends like you.
Thanks to all for having put up with an English plonker ;D
See you all again soon
(I hope)
