I do not want to tread on toes but I am hosting a trip to Rio Gallegos with Glyn Freeman on the last week of February 2008 i.e. 23rd February - 1st March At this time there are two places still available for this week. This is my eighth week fishing the Las Buitreras beats on the Rio Gallegos (40km of water for maximum ten rods) and have been hosting some of the prime weeks for the last four years. Obviously I have come to know the water pretty well during this time and am very keen that all anglers joining this party are well up to speed with the tackle and methods required before the trip. Glyn and I will help if required with casting needs both single and double hand free for these anglers. If one would like any more detail please look at the websites below which have detailed costings All details of this are on either mine sewincaster.co.uk/argentina-trips/ or Glyn at www.cumbriaflyfishing.co.uk/cumbria.htmlIf anyone would like further detail please PM me or send an email Illtyd

These are fantastic trips. I went with Illtyd in Feb 2007, and hope to go again in 2009. However good ( or in my case Bad ) a fisherman you are you will come back better. You will gain casting skills you thought were beyond you - and learn to fear no wind! Even I caught a decent fish! 13 lb + This is not "shooting fish in a barrel" that the Rio Grande has been occasionally likened to, but real fishing like we do it here. And you really have to work at times for your fish. A great lodge, great guides, lovely river just the right size but with miles and miles of it to fish. Loads of wild life and memorable scenery. And some very big, aggressive fish that take in the daytime. I wish they were like that back at home. If you can afford it ( it is cheaper than you think ), have the fishing permit ( or are single ), you will not regret it. Oh and the beer and wine are free!

Well this is news to me because as good a river that the Grande certainly is you still have to work for your fish and thats for sure SG
