Dear Customer
PNR: ZFHQBH
As of 3 January 2007 we sent notification of changes to Sterling baggage regulations to all customers who had booked Sterling travel with departures scheduled from 18 January 2007 onward. According to the new regulations, customers would pay a baggage fee starting at a weight of 15 kg rather than the previous weight of 20 kg. We are aware that most of our passengers check in baggage weighing less than 15 kg and hoped that the new fee would encourage the remaining passengers to reduce the weight of their baggage.
The purpose was, in partnership with our passengers, to make Sterling one of Europe’s most environmentally conscious airlines: Less baggage means lower fuel consumption.
We must admit that in our eagerness we did not sufficiently inform our customers of the new baggage regulations, and in the process we did not allow for tickets already sold which were covered by the earlier baggage regulations. We are therefore changing our regulations for those customers who booked tickets prior to 4 January 2007 for travel after 18 January 2007 – and we are now permitting 20 kg baggage rather than 15 kg for these tickets.
Those customers who have already paid for extra baggage between 15 kg and 20 kg on outbound travel have the opportunity, prior to 1 September 2007, to submit a claim for reimbursement supported by the appropriate documentation, which must be accompanied by bank account details. Customers living outside Denmark are also requested to enclose information for IBAN numbers and SWIFT codes (this information can be obtained from your bank). After 1 September 2007 Sterling will process all claims and refund amounts as quickly as possible.
Please send potential reimbursement claims to the address below:
Sterling Airlines A/S
Copenhagen Airport South
DK-2791 Dragoer
Denmark
Attention: Customer Service – CBW
We hope that we can continue as before in the excellent relationship based on the trust and confidence of our customers, and that this notice contributes to maintaining our customers’ view of Sterling as their preferred travel partner.
