Thanks SI. Welcome JohnNorway - hope you enjoy it. The forum has been running for some time now, the old bravent version is still out there in the ether of the internet - it was limited to 250 posts! It took some moderation, which thankfully is now hardly ever required! For those interested the old forum (what is left of it) can be found at pub12.bravenet.com/forum/985590104There are a hell of a lot of people who have made the forum what it is, i wont name them, but you all know who you are! It is a shame that there does seem to be a hardcore of members who post, without a lot of lurkers out there. It would be nice if a few of lurkers would take the time to post and share your experiences. There are benefits to posting - you get included on meets, fly swaps and most importantly get to meet some of the nicest people around. I take no credit for the forum becoming what it is - it is down to you lot who keep it going, especially over the winters months. So for the future, this is what is coming up - Denmark meet Cornish Meet Welsh Meet - Teifi summer Grayling Meet Pike in the Cotswolds (Winter) meet Fly swaps Argentina Meet with TT & Angling Worldwide Some competitions hopefully. And loads more info from some of the finest anglers in the country. Keep it going and tight lines for 2007 and beyond Hoppy

Congrats Hoppy. It's going from strength to strength. To have 1,000 members for a forum dealing with a specialised subject, or sole species, is quite remarkable.
TT.

Great news and well done the 'management'. Long may the forum continue. As a semi-lurker , who is in his 4'th season chasing the sea trout, I have picked up much information, tips and help that has contributed to make my progress quicker and enable me to connect. Thanks to all of you who have been free with your advice to 'newbies' like myself... it is much appreciated. As a newbie I feel I am still playing catchup, and with so many experienced members online who are pushing the boundaries, I tend to feel that I don't have much that is sensible to contribute at this stage. Hopefully I will in the future. I'm sure there are a lot like myself on this forum that are profiting greatly from the class of the content and the shared information from the experienced angling members... Thanks TL's IanMcD

As said previously a remarkable achievement for a single species forum. I joined two years ago. Having only ever fished the Ogmore, I somewhat nervously attended my first meet on the Teifi that summer, met up with great bunch of guys and have had a ball ever since. Also you won't find on here any of the tiresome antics and endless rows that seem to prevail on some of the other forums. This forum has broadened my sea trout fishing no end, I've met and fished with a great bunch of lads and had some great laughs along the way. Well done Hoppy, long may it continue Come on some of you lurkers, Get posting! Ian

Well done Hoppy, this really is a landmark.
If we all work together think of the influence that it is possible to exert on the EAW.
Keep on keeping on!!

Well done to Hoppy and all the regulars for making the forum what it is.
Like Ian McD I consider myself to be a beginner and have learnt an awful lot from the forum in the past 6months.
I would encourage all the lurkers out there to ask - you dont get treated as an idiot but you do get very useful help both on and off the forum pages.
Long may it continue

Well done lads for all the effort you have put in to make this forum what it is today. And to all the lurkers out there just remember ....If you dont ask you will never find anything out. There are a lot of good lads on here ..I know i have met some of them and have left a little wiser each time. Everyone as a little bit of info whether they know it or not so to have some where like this to share it is something we should all cherish and be proud of. Norsy.

I can only echo everyone else's thoughts and words. This really is a wonderful forum for all sea-trout fishers and I would like to offer my own 'THANK YOU' to Hoppy and Team for making it what it is.
There is a wealth of fishing knowledge here , freely given for all to share, so I would also like to thank all of you who have helped me in every way with their kindnesses from fur, feathers to sound, practical advice. So come on, all you out there, let's have some of your posts!
By the way T.T. we've mentioned flounders, but when did soles come into it ?.... (touch of whimsy,...beg pardon) ;D
