Hi can anyone advise if the Dutch Fly Fair is taking place this year and where at. I,ve heard it might be on but need confirmation.

Alas, people who had plans to visit the Dutch Flyfair will have to make other plans, maybe go fishing.
The Dutch Flyfair has been cancelled, due to lack of exhibitors and tackleshops.
We can only guess what the reason for this lack of interest is, but it is a given fact: No Dutch Flyfair in May 2006.

Hi Paul - it seems to me that they unfortunately didn't get their act together. I first heard of the re-launch of the Fair back in August/September - but the official invitations didn't go out until the first or even second week of January 2006. Thats far to short notice to get the top casters to attend and without them you don't get the crowds and without them ....
... just to give you an indication the invitations have just gone out for the Danishh FF, and the next one wont be taking place until April 2007!
Apart from the organisational hitch, I also think that the organisers were most unfortunate in picking the weekend 5th/6th May - thats the weekend when the second spey-o-rama is on at the golden-gate casting club in the states, thats an event which pulls most of the big-shots in casting.
Its very unfortunate - I hope that they can still manage to get off the ground either next year or the year after.
