The Spring Fly Fishing Fair Written By: Steve Thornton On Date: 20/1/2006 Just to bring you all up to date with the BFF. Steve Cooper closed the BFF. It was his own unilateral decision. The British Flyfair no longer exists and will not be held again. And, I express my thanks to all who supported and visited the show. "I will solely miss it". In reflection to this I have launched a huge new Flyfishing show which is to be a springboard for the new flyfishing season. It has the backing of Hardy Greys Ltd and is receiving excellent support from world class flytyers, demonstrators and exhibitors. The show has many excellent facilities including an indoor 50mtr casting lake. Click www.thespringflyfishingshow.com/4_4.html to see exhibition centre.

Hi everyone - it seems that quite a bit of mis-information is currently being spread regarding The British Fly Fair. Whilst I do not see this forum as being a place to air dirty laundry I feel compelled to set the record straight. As in the last 3 years a show will be taking place at Trentham Gardens in Stoke-on-Trent on 4-5th November 2006. The show will be called British Fly Fair International. A slight name change for legal reasons since I have now dissolved the partnership between myself and Steve Thornton. I unilaterally refused to work with Steve Thornton as I was not happy with the amount of effort that was being put into the show by him. The BFFI will once again be run in association with Fly Fishing & Fly Tying Magazine. Sponsorship will be from Partridge of Redditch, Veniards and The Daylight Company. The International Fly Tyers rows will contain 40+ tyers from around the globe and there will be a full programme of talks, demonstrations and casting. The show has committed support from the tackle trade with Glasgow Angling Centre, Snowbee UK, Lakeland Fly Tying, Celtic Fly Craft, Cochy Bonddhu Books plus many more already confirming attendance. A new website will be up and running in the next few days giving more details of the show (since Steve Thornton still has control of the original British Fly Fair website) see www.bffi.co.uk Please ignore any communications regarding British Fly Fair - International unless they come from myself or through the official website. If you need any more details contact me directly through this forum, email Cookshillft@aol.com or telephone 01782 388382. I will keep everyone fully updated via this forum. Hope to see you there for another great weekend and more of that unique Fly Fair atmosphere Many thanks Steve Cooper aka Cookshill
