I removed my earlier thread when i realised i had made a mistake with the company name. I mentioned www.tacklebargins.co .uk and it should have been tackle discounts who are selling on Ebay. Anyway, I purchased a Neilsen 10foot fly rod at a very good price and it was delivered very quickly. No problems so far, In my opinion the rod is ok and i can cast it fine. I have however been told that there are rumblings that these rods for sale on Ebay are not the genuine article. This has left a bit of a bad taste in my mouth as i thought id got a bargin. I paid £30 which i suppose i can write off and cant have too many complaints about but i was wondering whether anybody else had heard that tackle being sold on the site may not be what it says it is.

I got a Sharpes six piece 14' on Ebay for £140, half RRP price, it's genuine alright and brand new!
Have to say I've never been ripped off by Ebay, if you were sold a dud you can claim on your PAYPAL insurance or contact Ebay I think their pretty good about getting your money back.

just wanted to make myself a bit clearer. My post is only about tackle discounts who sell on Ebay. My original post may be read by some to mean the whole of ebay which is incorrect as i have bought a lot of tackle with no issues.

I have a Neilsen 9' 5/6 wt from tackle dicounts for under £30.00 including p&p, Its a cracker, I dont care if it is a phony ;D....I have let a couple of the lads have a go, they agree with me... PLUS you do have a lifetime guarantee with it from Tackle discounts....Its far better than rods i have paid quadruple the price for......I have bought a fair bit of stuff of Tacklediscounts and always had good gear....
Si
Scottdog, you dont say which model you bought? Mine is a 4 peice powerflex with a good tube ... I did have look on the Neilsen web page and it looks identical to the Power flex in the photo.....I remember the issue on fly forums...theres always issues on fly forums ;D But there were, as remember, more good than bad reports for the rods.......
