My Cortland Blue intermediate has come to the end of its life. I've got to tell you all in total honesty for some reason we never got on. It was WF 8. It has always been a popular line amongst Tywi anglers and i bought it in good faith, and with numerous positive endorsements, but there we go. So for all you fly fishing nuts out there what do you recommend i buy as a replacement, my rod (Loomis 10ft 6ins) has a 7/8 aftm. Any advice appreciated. Tight Lines Aled

Aled, you won,t go far wrong with a polyfuse delta clear intermediate by Airflo.I have used this line for years and its still going strong!! very little memory and casts like a dream,a full line out with ease, not that it matters to much on the river but handy if fishing lakes. Its a good all rounder and reasonably priced.
hope that helps somewhat

Will go along with Lee, the Lee Wulff line has worked well for me and also the Airflo 40+ casts very well.

Quote "My Cortland Blue intermediate has come to the end of its life" Is there a general rule for when you should change you fly line?I can understand if its totally knackered, but what about a line which has little use? cheers

if you dont or have stopped liking your line then change it straight away , you wont have any confidence in it and we all know what happens then , [no confidece ,no fish] as a rule of thumb if your lines starts to have memory or no longer casts like it should , then it time to change it , anyw ;Day it gives you a good reason to show your tackle tart side he eh billy p

Quite right buzzerman, I've just forked out a princely £8 on a Shakespeare DT 5 slow sinker from Sportsmail's sale and cannot wait to use it with a weighted Dunkeld in early April. Roll on the day!

I purchased a couple of lines from Mike Barrio last year a clear wf7 intermediate & a wf 7 floater, they are quite cheap at £19 &£17 with p&p.Excellent value I thought, and cast well.
