I expect that like me quite a few of us buy tackle from Sportfish either by phone or the internet. I have always found their mail order service to be excellent.
I had never visited any of the Sportfish stores before so last week, as I happened to be passing, I decided to visit their Reading shop. I have to say that I was very impressed and although I explained I was just browsing, I was made to feel very welcome and had a very pleasant chat with the staff. The shop is very well stocked and laid out. The fact that it is situated next to a lake makes it ideal for trying out tackle before you buy. I have to say that it is a very pleasant place to either seriously buy tackle or just call into as I did for a look.
I have no connection at all with Sportfish other than being a very satisfied customer. I just thought it worth pointing out my experience of the shop and recommending it well worth a visit to other forum members who might be passing. The only reservation I would make is that it takes some iron self discipline to leave the shop without making a substantial dent in a credit card! Phil

I have always felt invisible the second I stepped inside Sportfish Reading.I hate the place and in my experience most of the staff seem more interested in bragging about the latest exotic place they have fished than helping customers...unless they happen to be loaded or a toff at which point the toadying takes on quite epic proportions.I walked out last two times I went because I was so cheesed off by it all.
Maybe my constant reference to "thieving footpads" didn't help but I've no intention of going there again and Farlows in Pall Mall is even worse ! Pompous farts !

I have no connection either I am very happy to say !
