hey Glyn Forget them... try the equivalent rods from Bloke rods... much nicer and a far higher rod build to your specification go to www.bloke-rods.co.uk for the descriptions and prices Mick will always make a rod to specification and let you trial it on approval cheers

Agree with Greyduster, bloke rods are well worth a look.
Other than that Glyn probably your best bet would be to visit somewhere that stocks the rod and have a bit of a play with it, especially if they have a designated test area.
TT.

Yeah cheers both, ive thought of that but i'm not sure who stocks them within 50 miles of me here in Swansea. Id like a Bloke ive been on their website a few times...but they are a bit out of my price range. I have also been thinking about a St Croix Avid / Legend and maybe a Greys M2 plus the Scierra CTC. The thing is the Vision had the things I liked 3pc and single leg snakes which I prefer. cheers lads. Glyn

Daz, ......... but he does not like 4pce rods. Dai... ?? Whyever not? Many years ago, when spigott joints were in their infancy and carbon fibre rod tapers lacked today's sophistication and 'flat spots' were an issue - maybe - but today? Modern 3, 4, 5, 6 (whatever) piece rods are brilliant - what's not to like about them? They go in the boot - not on display to encourage 'Numpties' to nick them - they cast like a dream (well mine do!). Confused

Sorry lads, just dont like 4 pc rods...whats the point of multiple sections more than 3 on a 9ft rod unless your traveling I think 3 is more than enough. I have 15ft salmon fly rods that are 3 pc...they work quite well...personal choice, but I can see the use of 4 pc on rods of this length. My mate has a multi section 5 or 6 pc I think Greys 7.5ft rod its lovely...but its not for me. cheers Glyn

Glyn It's worth talking to Mick Bell at Bloke, don't be put off by the prices listed on the website, his rods hardly ever sell for their list price and you would expect to pay no more than £180 for almost any trout rod in the range. He sells them on Ebay and you can get a link to him from there. They are cracking rods and the customer support is second to none.

Glyn, Will say, go back 10years even less. i would not touch a multi section rod as you lost the action went very soft, you know what i am saying i have seen you on Friday night in the street on the beer ;D ;D ;D ;D. I do have a seven section SWFF rod and i will say it`s not top of the range and you could not wish for a stiffer rod ;D it only cost me £35.00, just to show that the cheaper end of the market can produce a good multi sec rod, a company the likes of Bloke could make a pukka one. Well thats my input on multi section rods. and talking of ebay, see a lot of bloke rods going on there for £80/£100. good deal.. Dai

I was totally the same as you - never had 4 piece, but recently i've had 4! I haven't had any problems and find that there is no loss of action.

Hi Hoppy...yes seems that way but I hope the Bloke I am getting will be 3pc, but if its a 4 I might have to put up with it . Its just 4 pieces on such a small rod I just dont get the idea. G.
