Looking to replace a couple of my lines, there are loads of Airflow lines at mouth watering prices on Ebay............. I'm guessing there is an issue here......... am I right ?

The general story with Airflo is that the sinkers are excellent and amongst the best available but no-one in their right mind would ever buy an Airflo floater.
They don't seem capable of making a floater that didn't behave like a slinky. Even if they ever do manage to make a decent floater, most anglers being once bitten (or in some cases many times bitten) will simply not believe it.
Some will undoubtedly disagree and cite examples of fantastic Airflo floaters but the vast majority of opinion on this and other forums would advise strongly against buying one at any price.

I use the airlfo ridge line and the airflo 40+ floater for all my night-time sea-trout fishing and haven't had a problem with either - the 40+ floater is great for bulky surface lures etc. and for roll casting in tight situations. I also use the ridge for my trout/grayling fishing, and again haven't had a problem. Try one if you can, I think they're great, but each to their own.
TT.

Hi, Like Steff, i have the airflo distance ridge line wf 5 floater for trout and grayling. and do think it`s the nuts, floats high no kinks and lays straight on the water and shots very well. and use the 40+ for sewin / pike and Bass and it does every thing i want it to do. ;D

Again... the Ridge floater is a cracking line, been using one since its birth, I agree Airflo floaters used to be crap, but with the 40+ plus series and the Ridge lines they have certainly got their act together... The lines for sale on E-bay are the old series of 40+ plus...and lines that have been superceded, by more up to date products but i cant speak for any but the first series 40+ they are a good buy at the prices asked..I use the Ridge presentation... but it's a good distance line also.

Airflo Ridge line all the way for me bought one this year, great for overhead, roll, and spey cast. It also handles braided poly leaders very well to, in all a great line .

Hi Used the airflow 40+ early in the season and had the running line snap on me after only a few uses. Liked the line but emailed airflow didn't have the decency to reply. Therefore turned to other lines. Their loss.

Hi MS, I've seen a 40+ Snap as well, but i have had a courtland and a Hardys snap on me, examined the courtland and found little abrasions where it snapped, i can only imagine i had caught it on a stone,( not using a line tray ) But the Hardy seemed perfect, Surprised No answer from Airflo as i have had dealings with them over a complaint of mine last year, their M tec rods, and i must be honest they were on the Ball.....But I suppose it happens, not good PR though... I have a few of the yellow Polyfuse floating lines WF6 that came free with Trout Fisherman a few years back, Ive had one on a reel since getting it and have found no problem, it floats well, there is no memory in it, and casts OK, if the ones still in the packets are as good then Il be well happy.

What?! This old chestnut! I think the old 40+ are great for saltwater work but I tried their olive nymph and stream with the orange tip - gawd it was awful.
Heard good things about the ridgeline apart from grit and sand getting into the creases.
The delta fast glass I own though is a favorite and I need, upon the ecclesiastical guidance of a few on here, to try the newer 40+ lines.

I've got a 40+ expert used mainly for SWFF, no memory, does what it says on the box and very happy with it.
