Hi All Can any of you recommend to me the best container to carry Rapalas about without them all getting tangled together??? At the mo I'm using a video case but still getting tangled. Has anyone had a look at the one by Snowbee, seems more for spinners than rapalas to me. TTFN Kev

Mustad do some nice clear plastic boxes with individual compartments that fit rapalas nicely, one to a section in sizes going up from 4cm wide (ish) upwards.I found mine in the sea fishing dept of veals shop in bristol but Id imagine any mustad stockist would get them for you.Fladen do a similar in green plastic in the 7cm size. These are the best way I have found so far of carrying in pocket or bag.No tangling,no damage to finish, easy identification of pattern and type. Some sizes you can even fit the cardboard part of the rap box in the section for added show off value

Hi Kev, last season and this year I,ve been using a spinner wallet.. bought it off Ebay ...not made for raps, but by using alternate holes, i find it quite good. Not the ideal, but I can carry a stack of raps and condoms etc and the whole wallet takes up little room... I think fladen do one...

if you can find one to suit like SI (who can track down an e bay bargain from 1000 paces ;D) then that is certainly a lot less bulky and rattly than my plastic boxes! Any idea the brand of yours,oh manx magician? nosey shocksy

Shocks... I think mine is Fladen....£4.50 ..not £14.00 as Snowbee.. ;D
Kev....very like that one but a lot more eyelets, and the same size as the biggest Snowbee... can be a bit fiddly getting em out and putting them in untill you realise you have to bend the wallet away from you..then no probs ;D... The price I quoted was an auction price.

You are all heading in the wrong direction. What you need are "hook bonnets" I use them on the river and on all my bass lures. Pop them on the lure then it doesn't matter how you carry them, I quite often just pop 4 or 6 lures/rapalas in my pockets and go. Superb things I would never be without them. look here: www.harrissportsmail.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=11916

I concurr, the hook bonnets are a brilliant idea and you can even use them on treble hooked salmon flies and put them safely in your shirt pocket. However, a word of warning. I bought some of these bonnets from eBay and they were useless. Inside the three hook pockets is a small constriction which prevents it falling off the hook. Sadly, the eBay ones did not have this constriction and are therefore in the chocolate fireguard category. I'm sure the Harris ones are pukka and have ordered some.

I have use hook bonnets for a few years and happily carry a range of spinningbaits in my pocket without getting them snagged or impaling myself on them.
The other way I carry a selection of spinning baits is in an Orvis sheepwool patch which rolls up and clips shut. I just arrange them with the trebles pushed into the wool at the top and then laid down side by side. I can carry around 20 Tobys, Flying Cs, Mepps and Rapala in mine.
As long as there are not too many Rapala or multi hook lures I have surprisingly few problems with lures tangling using the Orvis patch.
