Imagine casting it!!!!!! Plus you would have to retrieve quickly to get the blade working, the thing wouldnt be in the water long before you had to recast! Might me ok on a spinning rod? Hoppy

I just thought it was quite a novel method of mounting. I would assume it might be seen as an alternative to flying C´s or other similar spinners.
I had some success using tube flies behind spinners, although as you say, they were a bit of a hand-full to cast on a fly rod. I am fairly certain that I got a couple of fish which would not have struck the tube fly alone, but then one never knows!
I tried them for a couple of seasons, (in fresh water), and they seemed to work best in low water conditions, surprisingly enough.
I eventually gave up with them though. Never tried them in the salt, might be worth a go. A small spinner blade at the head of a sand eel, etc, might be a good idea?
