i have a greys fly rod but no reel at the moment. is it worth paying 45 quid for a GREYS GRX LARGE ARBOR 7/8 FLY REEL? or is there a cheaper alternative? i want somthing i can take out into the estuary also and wont have to be afraid fo it rusting.......any hep will be appreciated

The Greys GRX is certainly a good reel for the price but if you're looking to save some cash you might be able to pick up a Leeda LC100 - the reel is basically bomb proof and as a composite, virtually saltwater proof (just rinse out the insides) and spare spools are oh so cheap! It just ain't pretty!

I could recommend the Greys GRX reel through experience of owning one...,
I have used the same model for fishing in an esturine tidal beat on one of our rivers for the past 3 years, without any problems at all.......
Spare spools were included also...
