I have noted over the past couple of seasons on the Teifi that more fishermen are using longer and more sensitive rods for spinning and Rapala work. These longer rods look like Heavy feeder/Barbel avon types and really suit swimming rapalas through a good flow.
This has been my 4th season as a member of LAA and witnessed a few Salmon caught at the backend to Rapalas and managed one colored cock fish about 10lb(returned) on the fly off the LAA waters on the last weekend of the season. Looking forward to next season but would like some guidance on the long rods being used.

I think posibly the most popular spinning rods on the river are 9 and 10 foot Diawa Whiskers ( now called Excellers ). Really good rods. I bought one and went out and bought another within two months.
