Guys for Sewin and Salmon & Bass spinning I currently use a cheap carp rod. I'm thinking of upgrading this year.
Mostly I'll be using condoms and rapallas with some rubber shad ( up to about 40 g ). I use 30 lb braid usually and a Shimano Baitrunner 6000 GTE. I like a rod of around 9 foot.
Any recomendations?

The 10ft Whisker gets my vote too! The casting weight that Gethyn has already mentioned means that it can be used in a wide range of water conditions and cast a good range of lures from 7cm Rapalas and Mepps Anglia Longues, right up to some whopper stopper Rapalas and Flying C's.

Try the new Cortland rods. I picked one up in Tywyn for £25.00 cracking rod, i also use it for worming. It has held up to some good fish this year!
I think its the CRX, but i'll check

Well I had a quick browse of the Sportfish website, and bugger me if 9' Daiwa Whisker rods were not on sale for 40 pounds ( down from an original 100, via 80 ), so I just had to have one.
Unfortunately, my wife will notice this in the post. If anyone needs a spinning rod, get on to this deal - it is cheap. I know some ( all ) of the Whisker range are being discontinued but this worries me not.
Ta Bois.

Good call on the Daiwa- I was lucky enough to find some bankrupt stock a few years ago including a 10' Samurai which has served me very well and a lovely 6' Samurai which is great for worming in overgrown sections. I do like the look of these though: www.daiwasports.co.uk/proddetail.asp?prod=EX702MS&cat=33

I love my Wife, I told her it would be in the post and she said "that's a bargain - you had to buy it". I then hit her with my annual chalkstream trip for the Mayfly, and she said: "Make sure you get somewhere really nice this time, some of your trips have been a bit iffy" (Bourne, Itchen, Kennet......... )

Try www.whitbyanglingsupplies.co.ukHe carries a massive range and if what you want isn't on the website give them a call. I picked up a great 8ft Fladen rod (10-25g casting weight) as a back up rod for £15!!!
