55% of license holder completed the questionnaire.
On average 141 questionnaires were completed for each Salmon Action plan river. Anglers fished an average of 9 nights each. The most Popular river for night fishing was the Tywi in Wales, with 339 anglers declaring a total of 3,330 night sessions.
2,145 anglers (25% of respondents) said that they had fished night for sea trout.
Around 25% of fishing sessions (day and night) were devoted to fishing for sea trout only. On individual rivers, this ranged from just five sessions on the river Crake in North west England to just under 4,000 on the river Tywi in wales (45% in total)
