Almost forgot about this one! Had a practice session on the Rhymney last Friday before the competition day on the Saturday, and picked up this little beauty (the fish, not the reel!): Not very big, but fresh as a daisy and caught whilst grayling fishing on the short line nymphs. TT.

p.s. the fish was on a beat further down river than the one where the comp was fished otherwise I would have been cheating - thought I'd better clarify that ;D

There's a forecast for more rain today with predictions of 3 inches for Snowdonia and one or two inches down this end so it looks as though fishing's off. Bit of a drag really as I've just bought some circle hooks that I'd have liked to try out.

the taff at cardiff today was rising fast, she was already up 3ft. its still raining and with more on the way, i cant see it being fishable this weekend sob sob. one good thing tho, plenty of salmon seen jumping at the wiers around treforyst and a few seen at llwynapia wier on the rhondda. with luck most will make it and the taff system can get back to what the history books called (pre mining times) one of the heaviest salmon runs in wales. jj

Hi Steff, That Ari T Hart, an early Birthday present Now does T.T. mean Teifi Terrorist or Tackle Tart ;D Bill Thanks for that Bill! ;D Good to hear from you. I must confess that the Ari Hart reel does lean towards the Tart end of the spectrum! However, having purchased it prior to them coming to 'vogue' I think some leniency can be expressed! I would add that I'm nowhere near the Dunstan end of the spectrum!! TT. p.s. saw the Taff today; must be a load of grayling down Cardiff Bay!

That's why they put the barrage up Steff, it's a grayling conservation measure! Llandaff weir yesterday (went home ) - he he, and there's me thinking it was a pointless piece of construction! Sea-run grayling sound like fun; come back as marlin! ;D As for the pic; can't understand why you went home really, looks perfectly fishable. ;D TT.
