Thanks Peter, much appreciated. For the garfish I understand that orange is the best colour? I have caught them before, but I can't say that I have actually tageted them. They are awesome fighters, and great sport on the fly-rod. I once caught one in Cuba where the wing of the fly had just got trapped in their teeth. As such, perhaps just some orange wool looped would work? much like catching marlin on a string, or eels on a ball of wool. Any particular flies that you would recommend? or will they eat anything that moves? Thanks. TT. I`ve tried the "wool-approach", including some "custom-tied pieces of string", but for some strange reason I can`t really seem to get the hang of them. I use the flies below, fishe NZ-style(one after the other) with app. 10-15" between them. I use two fles simply to make them more visible to the garfish, The pattern is simply some dubbing, a bit of fox, and some small pieces of silver flash. They`re tied on Owner Iseamas(not so sure about the spelling...) #10. The hooks seems to be the key to catching them, they`re not that picky regarding colours/patterns Cheers, Peter

Dear All, My friend John Sanderson is - with much gnashing of teeth - a late withdrawal.....family exam commitments means has to shepherd a youngster through GCSE's. I'm sorry if this makes anything in the arrangements aysymetrical.....but he will cough up whatever for 'non-occupancy' and hopes to use his Royal Danish fisk licence - bought two weeks ago carefully online - before it runs out in 12 months! He can't, I think, pass on his Gatwick tickets to a late replacement if there is one can he? I, however, can't wait! Apologies for the domestic b***s up. Best, Paul. PS I gather the Dart (where John S. fishes) has recently produced a 15lb-er and some other big 'uns to fly in the bottom weir pool.

This means that two persons have now dropped out. I have asked the other person to send the money for the hire car that could have been requested at the time. However with everyone saying that they were definately going i made the decision to allow people to pay at the airport. I therefore respectfully request that John S provides the money for the car, so that everyone else doesnt have to cough up - if not i will be out of pocket to the tune of £75+. I think this is only fair. Sorry to drop this on you Paul, but i think its only fair that he covers the costs of the hirecar. I would ask that this can be sorted asap. A very dispondent Hoppy

From David Armes -
He had a sea trout on Tuesday and some Garfish, its looking good!
Flies used were a gold head, with Orange fritz body and an Orange fox tail!
The wind is problematic and he suggested that those who wish to, should take some bubble floats. These allow a fly to be cast further.

I have had a panic flytying session and now have my version of David's orange pattern added to the fly boxes and checked the bubble floats are in my bag. See you all in GATWICK.
