Right then this is the plan.... Fly to Billund with Stirling Air on evening of Thursday 17th May 2007 - This allows flight for £11! (plus taxes) - Flight time is 18.35 hrs from Gatwick (sorry - cheapest way) - it is 60 miles to Odense this is an idea of distance. Return from Billund on Sunday at 17.50hrs for £10 Accomodation is currently being sorted out - im looking at discounts from the Fyn Tourist group as we speak. Accomodation will be self catering. I am struggling with specifics at the moment. But i have found this www.folkeferie.dk/sw5217.aspIt works out at £43.00 per person based on 6 sharing. Fishing licence from www.fisketegn.dk - i week is £8.10p Car hire - This is the complcated bit it is £320.00 for the trip for a Nine seater minibus - However i would suggest that although its a nine seater - only 7 passengers go in the vehicle - so we have space for luggage! This works out at £45.00 per person. Or we go for a www.danskautorent.com/car_class_desc.php?show_pic=1&car_class=25This carries 4 passengers at £36 per person! Once the accomodation is sorted i'll let you know. I am also looking into guides for 1 day only. At the moment look at £150.00 as an estimate for travel & accomodation. Food is extra as will be a guide and fuel. Hoppy PS i want to get this booked at the latest by the 10th January 2007.

Norsy,
As soon as the accomodation is sorted out, i will let everyone know.
Then we will book flights individually and sort out our own fishing permits.
The car hire will be sorted in groups of 4 - i will try and sort this out so we can pay on arrival - so no one is out of pocket.
Im working on it, and so is mike, but i think its best to get this going very soon. If we have a deposit system, it will have to be non refundable!

The camp we are targeting is an absolutely first class accommodation. Six man cabins, with all creature comforts. We need confirmation of intent as soon as possible. Of course we are trying for a good deal, and for that we need concrete numbers. I just spoke to one of the Danske Folkeferie managers on the phone, and he sees no problems at all. We just need to tell him how many cabins. The three day trip is also no problem it seems, although this company is otherwise reluctant to do less than a week. This camp is used almost exclusively by Danes, and a few Germans. They rather think English people are exotic, although everybody speaks English. They have an excellent restaurant, swimming pools, minigolf, axe-throwing, blah blah blah......... Also a reasonable shop on site. We will be out-of-season, so various other activities may not be available, ( like visits to Legoland, etc etc ). I am sure this will be most disappointing for some of you, but such is life! The cabins are very well appointed. Of course, bedroom sharing is necessary. ( So if you snore, or indulge in any other indelicacies during slumber, you aren´t bunking with me! ) One can actually just walk down to the water in the Faeno sund, and start fishing, in less than five minutes.. The Faeno Sund is one of the places renowned for large seatrout, and quite a few boats troll for these in the Sund. ( they are not allowed to come too close to shore though). Large seatrout are caught here every year. I have caught quite a numbre of very nice seatrout in this area, although this is as ever weather dependent. It is actually the best possible base for fishing Funen. OK, as Funen is obviously the choice, I need a list of e-mails, so that I can start sending some concrete information to those of you who commit. There is no point in even trying to do this on the board, we would just get bogged down. There are three quite simple priorities here; 1. Get you there as cheaply as possible. 2. make sure you enjoy yourselves and get into some nice fish, also as cheaply as possible, commensurate with civilised procedures, such as fishing, eating, drinking, and generally being merry! 3. Get you back home again before the Danes even suspect that they have been invaded! TL MC

Just to remind you. You can buy a Danish fishing licence online here; shorterlink.co.uk/6138A computer printout with the relevant data is sufficient proof of purchase. This link is for an ANGLER licence. DO NOT BUY A "HOBBY" licence, This is for net fishing etc. TL MC
