David, I have no problem with links on the site - especially from people who actively use it - i just find it strange that this is all you seem to be doing recently. However i am considering the 12ft - 7/8wt double hander for some Grayling bugging - should be a good sporting rod. Hoppy

Hoppy 12ft 3 piece 7/8wt David Norwich double handed rod - is an excellent rod for bugging the extra 2ft ( over normal 10ft sage xp rod - ) give " far better " line control on rivers Rod also light enough to use a " single hander " I Bought it as a from David norwich when I met up with him fishing on ( demo /test model of the rod on banks river moy Unfortunately need to sell it - as no longer " budget airline " freindly - Need avoid having to travel with Kis rod tube !! PS wil be in your area on 27/4/08 / on route Working party on mawwdach if you want to try it out ?

Im sorry David, but I couldnt imagine anything more cumbersome and tiring this day and age than an 7/8# single handed rod which is 12ft long...... Im sure it can be cast single handedly, but effectively, for how long?

www.beulahusa.com/beulah_uk/switchrods.html - 29k These 10'6" rods are made to fish single handed, or double. I have made up a 12' rod for bugging which I can use single handed all day.I'ts from a 3 piece 15' match rod with a softish middle to tip action...I made a short butt for it.. I also used sliding reel fittings..so i can position the reel to suit the weight of it to the rod...it also doubles as a trotting rod of 12' or 15'.....MAYBE I'LL GET TO USE IT ONE DAY ;D ;D ;D Joking aside it has a nice feel to it and wont be overpowering for grayling....Cost ?.......... about £20.00..... ;D Si

You may be quite suprised with that rod Bap, Years ago a well known fisherman asked me to build a light line loch style rod up for him.
The blank he supplied ....... 12' match rod.
Best regards,
Ian

He,He,He....Oh it aint the first time i've utilised a coarse rod for fly fishing Ian....And a lot of anglers would be surprised if they knew how many rod blanks are used for both....saying that.....This particular blank wont be used for actual fly casting... it is a purpose altered rod for bugging / nymphing... I aint re-ringed it......yet If ringed for fly casting, I would envisage it throwing a 4-6 weight or thereabouts.... I have two 11' 6" Avon style rods, glass....made for me by an old mate, a semi pro rod builder, 40yrs ago ...when he presented them too me he told me they were built on Fibre tube blanks...meant for an 11' 6" grilse rod.. a pair i still use.... mainly for mullet etc......but sometimes for worming.. ;D ;D ;D Si

This is what I build and fish myself and I have access to lots of blanks. The switch series are awesome. You would be surprised what the 4 and 5wt can do. If you need one let me know, I think we can work something out

Hi ya Ditch...aint seen you catching much lately mate, or is it i have just missed the posts??.. with regards to the Beulahs.. I know you guys use em a lot... and maybe later in the season I might just be in touch with you... I very nearly bought a 4/5 wt blank, just before Xmas, as a winter build, but as it was I would not have had a chance to do it You once put a link up on River runs for those blanks and I was well interested then.. ATB you... Si

Its a bugger trying to get the 3oz lead to turn over properly though! Needs a good double haul technique, but make sure you don't lay the rod too flat on the rearward stroke.
