What are these desk jockeys doing all day( buying on the Internet no doubt ). Even mine was late arriving, and I pay direct debit every year, so everything is automatic and I don't have to worry about forgetting it , but where would I have stood in the eyes of the law had I been caught on the river without my license between the end of March and the arrival of the new one. Sorry guv. it's in the post I don't think ;D ;D ;D ;D Cap

b..........ut where would I have stood in the eyes of the law had I been caught on the river without my license between the end of March and the arrival of the new one. Sorry guv. it's in the post I don't think ;D ;D ;D ;D Cap Actually, if you buy on line there's not a problem. As long as you can produce the printable receipt that shows the transaction number you're legal. We have this issue every year and if you think about it - it's hardly surprising. All annual licences are renewable at the same time and the effect is that the EA's licence 'system' has to attempt to deal with this 'spike' - and it struggles - but is it viable for the EA to invest in a year long system so that it can cope with a busy period of a month or so? One answer would be that licences should run for one year from the date of purchase - much like Road Tax - it would, eventually, have the effect of spreading the burden of renewals. Alternatively, we could buy our licences a little earlier. I usually get mine, via the web, in early March and it turns up within 3 - 5 days.

No much help at the weekend, but you can buy from the Wye and Usk Foundation over the phone, and they get a donation from it.
And if you do it by direct debit, which I think you can through WUF, it is the same no every year, with a different prefix..I store mine in my phone which was accepted on the one occaision I was asked to produce it.

Got the online option sorted last night, this supports Pauls theory.
