Keith,
Thanks for that. I think the issue here is that we, as anglers, can campaign on all sorts of issues, and for all sorts of reasons. However the first and most important must be the protection of the fish stocks.
You are well aware of my views on poaching and the protection of the fish stocks. This campaign by the sea fishermen just goes to prove that we must work together. Remember no fish, no fishing. All the debates about canoes, catch and release, bag limits and so on will be utterly and completely irrelevant. The way the EAW are going we will have the cleanest, prettiest rivers and estuaries in the world but there will be NO FISH.
I hope you will support the sea lads and that the sea lads will support us.
Good luck.

Highplains Thanks for the comments, much appreciated
For sea and game anglers in Wales to support each other there's a need to get round the table urgently in the North and create a forum of working knowledge based on known facts I'm sure that S & T, WSTA and the WFSA can get together and hold a public forum at a suitable venue and thrash out a working memorandum of understanding in order that our causes are jointly viewed, strategies developed and a political stance taken for a common good. The sooner the better methinks as the politicians seems to be very quiet on past representation to date to the point of back pedalling !
I'm fortunate that I fish all three disciplines and have done for the last 42 years to competition level so I feel qualified to make such observations with conviction and do support the sea anglers on the Dee in their endeavours with a passion.
Heres to the future
