I had a call today from Allan's (highplains) wife to say that Allan had been taken into hospital with a nasty infection of the legs. He will be in hospital for at least 5 days and is currently on IV antibiotics. I have sent our regards and best wishes, hopefully he'll have a speedy recovery. Hopefully Allan will be out soon enough to attend the EA meetings, as he has been the leading light in this campaign. Hoppy ps i told his wife his timing was impecable as the season in North Wales is now over. She said she will pass this on!

No worries Highplains, I've had the odd bout of "infection of the legs" myself, often accompanied by "double of the vision". You'll be fine soon!

Get well soon fella, I think it could well be that extra long coat you wear and lack of light to the legs you know. Take care, thinking of you

Get well soon - you'll know when your legs are better - you'll be able to chase the nurses!

Get well soon Allan. I find it much easier to deal with any illness once the season has closed. Feels like you are not missing out quite the same. ATB. John

Allan is now at home, he is still not 100% but on the road to recovery.
He assured me that nothing was going to stop him going to the Fisheries Enforcement Workshops!

Thank you to each and very one of you that took the time to send a message. I have to say reading them made me feel much better. I look forward to meeting those of you going to St Asaph and wish us all well for the coming weeks on the campaign.

Here's hoping that being at home will speed your recovery - there's nothing worse than being in hospital!
Being at home means that you are surrounded by your own 'toys' and can enjoy the recuperative effects of activities like fly tying.
You must have been cheered by the news of the Irish drift nets!
