You may of seen in the Trout and Salmon a article about the Tees Barrage, and the fact that migratory fish can't get passed this obstacle. This has gone on for 12 years and is set to go on for a minimum of another 3 years while more tests are carried out. The A.C.A are running a petition on their web site, it only takes 1 minute to put your name to this petition, i would be grateful for any members or friends of members who would take a minute out of your time to put your name on the petition Even if you don't fish the Tees. ALL YOU NEED TO DO IS- go to www.a-c-a.org/barrage-petition.html website and click on the link for Tees Barrage and put your name down. Thanking you Kingfisher.

Thanks for bringing that to our attention kingfisheryh02nxs (catchy name!) I've signed that.
Here in Cardiff two of our rivers, the Taff and Ely are plugged by a 1.3 km barrage which boasts a 4m fish pass, I have every sympathy for any angler who sees their sport ruined by these structures. I 've no doubt that future generations will see the building of these dams as nothing more than acts of vandalism, particularly when their supposed benefits are purely the creation of a yachting marina and a scenic backdrop for corporate and civic headquarters as is the case in Cardiff Bay.
I hope the ACA's petition has some effect on changing an environmental crime of the first order which has been allowed to continue on the Tees for far too long.

Kingfisheryhnxs, Glad to add my name to this. Hope it helps toward a new fish ladder being created soon. No sense allowing all these fish to be eaten by seals, because they are unable to by-pass this obstacle to spawn.
Cheers, Willie.

Glad to sign and add my support Kingfisher. A three year study just buys the decision makers time before perhaps difficult decisions need to be taken.Good to see the ACA are on the case Best wishes Dancer
