Hia daz, this may seem a little rude, considering its one of your personal patterns, but would there be any chance you could post the fly on the forum, been sturggling fishing this high water with my own waddingtons etc....., and it seems your fly has proven a fish catcher in these conditions. Nevertheless I can respect your decision to not post the fly on the forum if you chose to, consdering it is your own pattern, thus your fly etc...... Many thanx Rhys

Alright Rhys.
I have no problem telling you what it is mate....It's nothing more, or less, than a stoats tail, but with a butt of Glowbrite yellow.
The only reason it as been so successful is that I could get my flies down in the big water by tying them on copper tubes...Di lines help as well.
DAZ.

Well until recently, I was a sewin virgin Never really targetted them in earnest, although I have become fascinated by them and want to pursue them properly. Thus a trip to the Towy with some mates last week. Knowing diddly squat about sewin flies, I asked DAZ to tie me up a selection of whatever he thought might work. They did Even on the guys I was staying with I spilled em out on the kitchen table at breakfast and there was a reverie as each was picked over, stroked and put away Day time angling. No big fish, but plenty of good knocks and the odd lunge take that somehow I contrived to miss. But, three fish did stay on the hook long enough me to call them "caught". ;D So cheers DAZ... I'll be back

Daz, if he learns what you have achieved in a relatively short period of time - he will probably be one of the best fly dressers in Wales, the Uk if not worldwide.
Hoppy
ps nice looking fly!

Well why not kill two birds with one stone, The Team Shirt with a few of the fly's tucked nicely away in the top pocket, (or is that to much to ask from Santa). Oh, and theres another Lad I know who would appreciate the same. so come on Steff make it a Christmas to remember for a couple of humble Northern folk. ;D ;D ;D

I will have to deliberate with the directors and get back to you on this one. Would you be willing to present yourself as an individual, or must you travel as a duet? TT.

Thats a very difficult question you put to me there Steff, may have to consult my Brief on this one, But basically its a case of needs must, (the duet thing) you know the score, Skint, no money for food, drink, anything for that matter, so its a cost cutter, bargain basement sort of arrangement, a bit of the good old fashioned barter stuff, that way we get to fish each others Exclusive private beats into the bargain, so me and my companion have to stick together on this, and by the way he conducted himself in a very gentlemanly manner on the said day, actually putting me onto fish, and in between making pointy sticks and stuff, actually caught a fish. ;D ;D ;D SMW

Thats a very difficult question you put to me there Steff, may have to consult my Brief on this one, I can't believe that you would even consider leaving your ghillie - who obviously put you over fish. He was a better ghillie than the one I had on the Glen Loch in Scotland ;D Plus the pointy sharp things were better than Ray Mears's! Hoppy ps - I can't believe you haven't got shirts yet - and Steve you do need a new hat instead of that Rule 43 Inmate cap you wear!
