Thought I'd steal a few moments to cast a fly in the Fowey below Trago yesterday afternoon.Bought a Sharpes Gordon #5 last year for said purpose from my friend Rogers tackle shop and hence have no receipt.Only used it to cast on grass a few times til now.Threaded line,loosed off drag on reel,gave line a v gentle pull to test drag/flex,rod bends no more than 20 degrees,top section snaps clean in half.Bang. What to do ?Since I was given no paperwork when I got it I doubt Sharpes want to know,Ive had it a year,and Roger has made it clear that he considers broken tip sections down to my clumsiness. Bugger  |

Call sharpes shocker...They wont charge the earth for a tip section, and they are easy to deal with, explain the situation you may be pleasantly surprised (or maybe not  ) Si..  |

If you paid by credit or debit card and you can find the statement listing the purchase of the rod, they should honour your warranty. There will probably be a handling charge though; £25.00 seems to be the norm. As Si said give them a call. www.sharpes.net/ |

:-/I thought sharp's went bust themselves a couple of months ago,dont know who has taken them over if this is true.

:)thanks for everyones help  called all the numbers on the sharpes temporary website and after some confusion got through to Chris Baird who was very helpful.Explained the situation to him and he said "no problem" and I'm sending the rod back for a replacement.I dont know yet about any cover charges. I'll update as it happens  |

FINALLY recieved my rod complete with new top section today.I had feared that it had been lost in the post,but it turns out that it was lost in their despatch dept no covering letter,but best of all,no charge!  So,all in all,a result,albeit a slow one |
