Ive been trying out various lines for years now to find one which will be suitable for the stream sized fowey near home to the wider bits below to colliford lake.Ive had WF short heads,WF long belly of all sorts and always seem to come back to DT lines as the most versatile.But......when I want to change from fishing close in to far out,or vice versa,it involves a lot of false casts which are not good for the little fishies nerves. So.......after even more reading Ive decided I want to try the Triangle Taper concept(The Rio line that claimed to be the DT reinvented wasnt, well, not to me) that supposedly works at all extensions, roll cast etc.Trouble is its a lot of outlay for something that may not work,£50 is my wife,my dogs and my food spend for a week and while I might convince the wife thats its some new diet Im pretty sure the dogs wont go for it Soooo......(again)does anyone have an old TT line that they could sell/rent me?It doesnt really matter what weight as I have rods of most rates laying around, and it doesnt matter how ratty or worn out it is.This is just for evalution purposes. Please help a destitute farmer today

Shocker, I have been a fan of TT lines for a few years and can confirm that they are great casting tools for overhead and roll casting. Only disadvantage is the price but try eBay and check out American listings. I have also been impressed with Airflo 40plus expert lines which also have a long belly and shoot and roll cast very well. A couple of words of caution on the Airflo, it is the expert version and they tend to be a size heavier than stated. Tight lines. Mike

Hi Shocker, PM me your address and I'll put one in the post for you. I have used the line quite a bit and I will probably use it again, but not for a while. You are welcome to try it out. What line are you after 7 or 8? One thing you should be aware of is that these lines don't have the shortest of heads so you may need to overline by one if retreiving right in to the bank and you want to get it back out with the minimum of false casting. I use the Bass TT line a lot. it has a 27' head and loads the rod really easily as well as chucking out big flies like Jambos. Incidentally, I have used their sink tip line as well which is great and doesn't hinge. Ted

Shocker i have a 4/5wt and 6wt TT. You are welcome to try, if you like the line send me some flies or fluff in return. I like them but you really have to be holding some overhang out the tip before the rod loads, there again, most of my rods are quite fast. They roll cast and spey well because the wt is toward the rear of the head. I tend to use DTs or true long head lines of 60+ ft heads these days.
A I have 2 criticisms of the TTs, the very abrupt rear taper does tend to crack and the tip sometimes needs to be cut to get better turn over at distance ( i took 6" of the 6wt).
Lee.
