I see in the Glasgow Angling Centre rag that they are sellng the Scierra XDA large arbor reel for £32.I can vouch that this a fine reel.I bought the 5/7 version (the same as on sale now) last year and have been well pleased.A good barstock,LA,disc drag reel with plenty of backing space.A finely adjustable ,to lock up,drag. The only gripe is that is a little heavy(not madly so in comparison) for some lighter setups, good for a 6,7,8 though. All in all a good buy.I know some people (including me) have had problems with long delivery with this bunch, but when the goods do come they are normally A-OK.And a cracking price for this, too.I may have to have another.Bang goes my saving for a Hardy Angel...

Air-flo are selling the C8 composite for £33 or so, being composite its more what i would go for, not so good a reel as the scierra, but being composite construction less to corrode, I use any cheap lureflash crap. i can pick them up for a few quid on Ebay, i aint suggesting any one else use them, i aint that cruel.

Sean be careful mate, procede with extreme caution when mentioning tackle tarts. There is only one, the true one, who would take great offence at having his title usurped, won in 89, a good year, this tart has held his title proudly, despite repeated attempts from others to take it away. This guy is reputed to own every lamson reel in every size, and is also known to friends, as lamphead? ?, and i doubt it's because he is a shining example of manhood . (He probably is, but i'm saying nothing). I speak of course of our very own Mr Dunstan ( also known as, Sir, please Sir. ) so now you know. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D .

;D ;D This guy is reputed to own every lamson reel in every size, and is also known to friends, as lamphead? ?, Tis true John, Sir Dunstan laid them out(wasn't the only thing he attempted to "lay" that weekend) on the picnic table at Aberchych. For each lamson he pulled, out I had the direct equivalent in inverse snobbery. Intrepid rimfly x 2 and my usual collection of gut shot crows(hardy Viscount 140 MK1 etc). Myself and Diawlbach put up with this until there was about 1200 quids worth on the table and hatched a plan to "jump him" on the riverbank in the dark and relieve him of his jewels. The Tivyside headline would have read RAMBLER FOUND NAKED BESIDE THE TEIFI!! ;D ;D

My friend Ian, would that be ..THE..picnic table, the scene of many drunken displays of bawdy speech and drunken boast, of monsters caught that grow in size, ( and i do mean fish ) err one speaks, and even bigger beasts are lost. It is legend in its own time, the oblong table of Abercych. I too have sat at such table, but saw no display of tartyness alas. i wish i had seen your display, it must have terrified my Lord Dunstan, Sir Lamphead of Truro err Patsy it was said, i seem to remember, that he left early morn thus thwarting, your cunning plan, DB must have been livid. Although, i think, it saved a soul from finding the said body of"The Rambler" and living in purgatory ever after. ;D ;D ;D John Of Mann.

Is it true that Diawl Bach has to ring and check he has sufficient cover on his contents insurance before Sir, Please Sir Dunstan or Hoppy can set foot over the threshold at Abercych?
