apprentice looks pretty sexy to me ... ... Silja ties hers the other way round, ie hook at the end where you have the swivel. I'll try and get a picture up-loaded. @ all - this fly known as the honey shrimp is doing the rounds at the moment. Loads of Vikings using it, with success I might add. It is also known as the "Divorce Fly" ;D- you have been warned. have fun stuart

Tied something like that as a ragworm type lure last year, but did it with a 4inch braid snake mount, twisted black vampire fritz chenille round the thread and spiralled it up,2 brass coneheads for a bit of weight.Cast OK on a 8 and a 9 (big loops!) but didnt catch anything .Didnt realise they were so popular.....what conditions are they suited to and how best fished?

Was browsing the Fynfisker Board and found this pattern of a børsteorms (ragworm). Its tied by Peter Jensen who lives on Fyn, speaks English (as most Vikings do) and can be reached via UKSwffstuart

Sorry Shocker I'm not a ragworm man myself, or put another way I have never been fortunate enough to hit on a ragworm migration. As mentioned above, go to UKSWFF and drop Peter a pm or just post your question to him.

PS I reckon that 2 cone heads might be bit toooo much weight for the shallow water around DK. The rags I have (Silja tied them for me) are tied on a #6 short shank SW hook and they have only one conehead. The idea is to retrieve the fly erratically, stopping every now and again so that it sinks with a sexy wiggle towards the bottom (much the same as an injured bait fish)

In the wake of the H5N1 outbreak in Norfolk, does anyone know if we will be able to take our flies into Denmark?...don't like to think about this but better to be prepared in case!.
